1776 was a disastrous year for the United States. Independence

was declared on July 2, but then New York City was captured after

the defeat in the Battle of Long Island against the largest army

England had ever fielded.  The Continentals were defeated in battle

after battle, until Washington was pushed across New Jersey to

Pennsylvania with only 2,400 men left of his 25,000 man army.  Washington's only chance was to win a victory or see independence crushed.  On Christmas night, he recrossed the Delaware River and at dawn attacked the Hessian garrison at Trenton, NJ and won a complete victory losing only two men and no Peeps.

"Grand Canyon Peeps."  It is a little known fact, based on scientific calculations, that it would take 87 quadrillion (87,000,000,000,000,000 or 87 million billion) PEEPS to fill the Grand Canyon.  We do not know yet how many C130H transport plane loads that will be, but we're getting started.  (Statistic published by USAToday 2016.)  The Rochester Academy of Science is one of our benefiting charities. Click on their logo to visit their website!

"The Girl with a Peep Earring" is for The Father's Heart mobile kitchen outreach to the homeless.  Painted by Dutch Golden Age painter Johannes Vermeer, c. 1664,he completed the masterpiece by affixing a marshmallow Peep to her ear.  Plagued by an infestation of mice that kept eating the earring, he finally gave up and just painted in a pearl, c.1665.  This is the restored version.  The Father's Heart is one of our benefiting charities.
